For Dr. NeelMinhas, practicing dentistry in Nanaimo isn’t just a career, it’s a homecoming. A proud Nanaimo native, Dr. Minhas attended Georgia Avenue Elementary School and John Barsby Community High School before obtaining his BSc degree in Biology from VIU. He then moved to the United States in Detroit, Michigan where he earned his D.D.S. at the University of Detroit Mercy before returning home to the Island.

Dr. Minhas has been a staple at this office since 2017. His commitment to the practice was truly tested in August 2023 when the clinic was devastated by arson. Rather than moving on, Dr. Minhas was a key part of the resilience that saw the practice through its most challenging years.

In June 2025, that dedication came full circle when he became the sole and proud owner of the newly rebuilt Wentworth Dental. Today, the practice stands as a modern facility, locally owned, independent, and a symbol of Dr. Minhas’ permanent footprint in the city where he was born, raised, and continues to live.

While always calling Nanaimo home, he spent several years honing his skills across the Island, providing care in Port Alberni, Campbell River, and Ladysmith before choosing to focus his practice exclusively here at Wentworth. His heart for service has also taken him to remote villages in Guatemala and underserved communities in Michigan to provide essential dental care.

Successfully tackling both Canadian and American board exams, Dr. Minhas is an active member of the CDA, ADA, and BCDA. Known for his calm, quiet, and composed confidence, he lets his precision do the talking in the clinic. However, off the clock, his adventurous spirit takes over. Whether he’s skydiving, ice climbing, or in the boxing ring, he brings the same "all-in" energy to his adventures as he does to your family’s smiles.
